Omar is the Founder of Covelant - Leveraging AI To Help Athletes & Coaches Strategies Against Their Opponents Whilst Making It Affordable And Easy To Use. He has taken the challenge to answer our 20 Truth Questions, For us to gain some insight, And learn the Truth about the person behind the venture.
My TRUTH Story:
1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON TO A CROWD OF 10,000+ PEOPLE?
Welcome to the stage all the way from Egypt, Covelant Founder & CEO Omar Badawy.
2. WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A TRUTH FOUNDER?
A Truth Founder is someone who is willing to say the hard realities of starting a company as a precaution to everyone and share in the delights and high moments that make it worth while.
3. WHAT EVENT OR EVENTS HAPPENED TO YOU THAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FOUNDER?
Watching my brother try to start a cloud gaming company at age 13 years old.
It reminded me to dream big and try really hard even if the odds were against him from the start.
4. WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE & RITUAL? I shower, have breakfast, then have my coffee and a cigarettes while checking my mail. I like to keep it simple :)
5. WHAT MANTRA,QUOTE,LINE OR PHRASE DO YOU SAY OFTEN TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF? It's now or never.
6. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR VENTURE? Because we've built something that can predict the outcome of most tennis matches before they happen.
This opens up a world of strategy to the sport that has never been seen before. The first line has never failed to spark a conversion tbh.
7. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONE TO MAKE YOUR VENTURE A SUCCESS?
I don't, I just try give my best everyday by planning & building while practicing healthy and constructive communication with the team.
8. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR VENTURE? ( START WITH: IMAGINE A WORLD... WHAT IF... WE WILL BE... )
A world where every aspiring athlete or sports lover has access to affordable industry grade AI that can guide and note where their weaknesses are and how to improve against the best in the world.
A world were coaches don't have to watch hours of footage so they can make the right call but harness the years of experience they have with a powerful engine that does the heavy lifting for them.
A future where sports are elevated to a new level of strategic moves and counter moves based on predictable data.
9. ANSWER THESE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE - I BELIEVE... I DON'T BELIEVE... I believe hard work always pays off usually in unexpected ways.
I believe everyone has the potential to grow into someone great.
I believe being honest with yourself is a virtue unfortunately not practiced by many these days.
I don't believe I'll ever have a chance to play DnD with Henry Cavil.
10. WHAT'S ONE DECISION YOU MADE AS A FOUNDER THAT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR JOURNEY? I went to CODE University and introduced myself to a long list of incredible people that have changed me as a person.
11. WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS PERSONALLY & AS A FOUNDER? I've managed to keep the team together during 3 pivots, and with each pivot moral went more and more up. - Also, inspiring each other to give more despite the growing losses we faced during that time.
12. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY? I know how to crack really good jokes. It makes people happy and helps lift their stresses away even for a moment.
13. WHAT'S ONE THING YOU CAN IMPROVE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WHY DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT BY NOW?
To be more of a family man. I have dedicated so much time to working and focusing on my friends and cofounder that I wish I could spend that time around the people that matter the most. But quite simply life has a funny way of throwing stuff at you to deal with.
14. WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED OR GIVEN, OR BOTH?
If you are torn between what's in your heart and what's in your mind. Always choose what feels right, because even if you happen to be wrong at least you'll be at peace with yourself.
15. ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 - 10 BEING THE BEST. HOW WELL DO YOU THINK YOU AND YOUR TRUTH STORY IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY YOUR COMMUNITY? ( WHY NOT 10? )

16. WHO DO YOU MOST ADMIRE AND WHY?
Marcus Aurelius. He was the emperor of Rome, actually regarded as the best Emperor the world has even seen.
He had the weight of the largest kingdom of the era on his shoulders at the time. It was well documented that he never once had moment of weakness, where he would indulge in parties, shady business, or any form of temptations. He held his responsibilities to the highest standards so much so that his enemies in the senet at the time had no leverage on him what so ever. He was considered the noblest of emperors, loved by both the people of the Roman empire and the external kingdoms.
17. DESCRIBE YOUR VENTURE - ELEVATOR PITCH STYLE?
AI is very good at predicting things. What would happen if you used AI in a system that is limited by rules and governed by a predictable series of actions?
That is what we are doing, Leveraging AI to help athletes & coaches strategies against their opponents whilst making it affordable and easy to use.
18. WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT MISSION STATEMENT OR MESSAGE + MARKET FIT FOR YOUR VENTURE?
The worlds first AI powered analytics tool for Olympic level sports federations.
19. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO TO UNWIND AFTER A LONG WORK DAY?
Depending on my mood, either cook while watching some series or indulge in a good brain rot session for 15 - 30 minutes.
20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU TREATED YOURSELF TO AND WHAT DID YOU CELEBRATE? Guinness and cigars with my friends at the local pub for completing our decertations.
