My TRUTH Story:
1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON TO A CROWD OF 10,000+ PEOPLE? Michael currently earns a living as a headhunter in the digital industry and have been doing this since 2005. In 2010 he founded his own company called ThinkHeads, which he later renamed to HireWorks in 2022 (a post-Covid fresh start).
He has always been interested in people, And curious about collaboration and organising work, Which is the reason why he stayed in headhunting for so long; In general he has the tendency to automate whatever is possible and started looking into the recruitment market a long time ago. He ultimately came up with an idea, but did not know how to design a product.
He then met his co-founder Henning, who is THE tech guy! And together they worked on an "AI headhunter" project with the quality level of a human. The result today is called JobID.
Founded in 2019 with a first business angel round and an invention in semantic job search and search technology.
Currently they are looking to proceed from prototype to MVP and are trying to raise a second business angel round with 100K tickets and a desired volume of 1 million.
The MVP is a public job board with "perfect" search, And new features to provide the traction they need to pitch for their Series-A. So far that's the plan :)
2. WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A TRUTH FOUNDER? A Truth Founder is someone who knows why it can and should be done!
3. WHAT EVENT OR EVENTS HAPPENED TO YOU THAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FOUNDER?

4. WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE & RITUAL? I take my dog for a walk, have breakfast, then I just start.
5. WHAT MANTRA,QUOTE,LINE OR PHRASE DO YOU SAY OFTEN TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF? Everything Changes.
6. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR VENTURE? I think it just needs to be done. The job industry runs on non-structured data and that is slowing everything down. It could be and must be so much easier.
And no: ChatGPT cannot do the job. The way is it, things are not in order and need to be cleaned up and built from the ground up. There are more scenarios where this technology could be used, even outside recruiting.
7. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONE TO MAKE YOUR VENTURE A SUCCESS?
I came up with the idea ;)
I know why it can and should be done, I know the industry and have been persistent for a long time. I ask for help whenever I see other people can do a better job than I can; And whenever I have the funds to engage and pay other people, I do.
8. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR VENTURE? ( START WITH: IMAGINE A WORLD... WHAT IF... WE WILL BE... )
Imagine a world, where YOU own you career data (in a POD). Everything from your resume, your competencies, verified competencies from former engagements, all your training & education, your ambitions, your intentions, maybe even your (verified) job offers.
You grant JobID rights to read your data (and previously to create it) and receive interview invitations, fitting your schedule, your career ambitions in various aspects.
Imagine during the process you receive and provide more information, videos, Q&A, And a training plan to build up competencies you are lacking and which are needed on the job.
Imagine the company can do that automatically based on the compatencies you have, you are lacking and the training to fill the gap.
All this can be done with JobID.
9. ANSWER THESE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE - I BELIEVE... I DON'T BELIEVE... I do not believe job search is a frustrating task.
I do not believe in resumés; Only in a global, ever changing talented world.
I believe the content of a job must be searchable.
I believe titles lose meaning.
I believe jobs as we know will disappear and competencies will determine responsibilities.
10. WHAT'S ONE DECISION YOU MADE AS A FOUNDER THAT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR JOURNEY? To ask a consultant I had hired if he wanted to become my 50:50 co-founder.
11. WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS PERSONALLY & AS A FOUNDER? Not having given up, even if the most sane people have done it multiple times.
12. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY? I am getting better at loosing my vanity.
13. WHAT'S ONE THING YOU CAN IMPROVE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WHY DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT BY NOW?
Sell the pitch as if everything was there, everthing will happen as planned because it is written in the business case.
Well, I am struggling, have 3 pitch decks and am experiencing how difficult it is to explain something to somebody not from the industry, something that is so obvious to me. ;)
14. WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED OR GIVEN, OR BOTH?
Imagine you meet a wealthy person in the evening at a bar after three beers and explain JobID - That is your pitch deck.
15. ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 - 10 BEING THE BEST. HOW WELL DO YOU THINK YOU AND YOUR TRUTH STORY IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY YOUR COMMUNITY? ( WHY NOT 10? ) 5
16. WHO DO YOU MOST ADMIRE AND WHY? Mother Teresa, And all social workers who did not let governments, wars, crime or money stop them.
