1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON TO A CROWD OF 10,000+ PEOPLE?
Max Billinger is a passionate leader bringing people together for a better future. He's worked as a executive and managing director in innovative manufacturing companies with responsibility for operations and P&L for large multinational and mid size companies.
As a business unit leader, Max was responsible for all aspects of a business including 6 plants and up to 2000 employees worldwide. He thinks and acts as a citizen of this world and is open to engage with all kinds people to make an impact and to bring organizations forward.
After a leadership career for 30 years, Max has dedicated himself to his impact start-up and has co-founded Point2Hectare in 2023, A venture that unlocks the full potential of biochar for better soil health, And removing millions of tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.
2. WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A TRUTH FOUNDER? A Truth Founder is a person who gets involved in things that matter short and long term.
3. WHAT EVENT OR EVENTS HAPPENED TO YOU THAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FOUNDER?
The death of my father. He worked all his life to make cities and living for people safer and more sustainable.
My work in companies had a very positive impact on the people, however, speed and scale are needed to address the climate emergency and traditional companies are just too slow.
We need start-ups to act now, and to make the transformation at a much faster pace.
4. WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE & RITUAL? I have my breakfast, Then a team meeting with the co-founders at 8:00am three days a week.
5. WHAT MANTRA,QUOTE,LINE OR PHRASE DO YOU SAY OFTEN TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF? Change is always good.
6. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR VENTURE? Point2Hectare is a technology venture that brings true impact in CO2 removal from the atmosphere.
We can do this fast and at a volume that many cannot imagine.
Our business model and competence assure scalability worldwide.
7. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONE TO MAKE YOUR VENTURE A SUCCESS?
I understand how traditional manufacturing companies tick and have the experience on how to help them on their path to net zero.
8. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR VENTURE? ( START WTIH: IMAGINE A WORLD... WHAT IF...WE WILL BE... )
What if we could grow biochar production worldwide 10x every year by convincing the farmers and the food industry that they can grow more food while not only reducing GHG emissions but also capturing more carbon from the air for healthier and more climate resilient soil.

10. WHAT'S ONE DECISION YOU MADE AS A FOUNDER THAT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR JOURNEY? My decision to focus on green fertilizers that leverage the scale and resources of the large fertilizer companies reducing millions of tons in GHG emissions much faster.
11. WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS PERSONALLY & AS A FOUNDER? Having acquired and integrated several companies successfully.
Having formed a trustworthy and mutually interesting relationship with customers.
12. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY? I can engage with many people from all kinds of cultures and backgrounds.
I enjoy a good conversation and believe in diversity.

Learning French - I don't have enough opportunities to practice.

Once a colleague coached me 30 years ago and said to me that ''there is never black and white''
