Jiri is the Founder of AIRWOLF - Revolutionizing Personal Transportation By Providing An Accessible, Exhilarating, And Sustainable Flying Experience. He has taken the challenge to answer our 20 Truth Questions, For us to gain some insight, And learn the Truth about the person behind the venture.
My TRUTH Story:
1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON TO A CROWD OF 10,000+ PEOPLE?
Jiri Zachardala is the founder of the Unlimited Drone Experience AIRWOLF. He is working on a vision to make flying accessible for everyone through the development of a flying motorcycle. Jiri is originally from the Czech Republic and has over 15 years experience in project development and management. He's exciuted to intrduce to you a revolution in consumer air travel.
2. WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A TRUTH FOUNDER?
A Truth Founder is someone with a strong vision - He has founded a business with a strong why and is not willing to re-negotiate when the moment comes to decide on the only way to move forward.
He is also someone who understands that truth opens every door worth opening and filters out those that should remain closed.
3. WHAT EVENT OR EVENTS HAPPENED TO YOU THAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FOUNDER?
It was a long process, at least in my case. I think the first moment was watching IRON MAN in 2008. After that, there were many more moments; From building my own plane, helicopter, and first quadcopter models, and flying with them.
Then came the decision to build a hybrid X-copter logistic drone, eventually leading to the idea of making a jetpack. When it became clear to me that carrying such a heavy weight on my back wasn’t feasible, the concept evolved into a flying motorcycle that you can sit on.
4. WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE & RITUAL? I wake up and think about my goals for the day, followed by a morning meditation and sport activities at least three times a week.
5. WHAT MANTRA,QUOTE,LINE OR PHRASE DO YOU SAY OFTEN TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF? After low tide comes high tide. You can always give up the next day or the next week, so don’t give up now. What shall happen will happen, just go step by step.
6. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR VENTURE? Because if you see our world from the sky as a bird does, you will gain a new perspective on the beauty of our world.
Why, in the 21st century, should we not enjoy transportation in a beautiful and fast manner that removes the limitations of having to go to an airfield?
7. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONE TO MAKE YOUR VENTURE A SUCCESS?
Because I don’t measure our success just by building our company and making money. Real success for us is contributing our bit to a better world, and changing people's thinking about a new freedom in transportation.
We know we will only be able to share a small piece of our vision or technology, but we are not alone; There are many other companies working towards the same goal. The overall goal will have an impact on history akin to the transformations brought by horses, trains, cars, buses, and big planes.
Now, individual sustainable air transportation from your backyard or parking place will emerge in the next two decades.
8. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR VENTURE? ( START WITH: IMAGINE A WORLD... WHAT IF... WE WILL BE... )
Just Imagine: In 2 years time, this amazing flying machine is parked in your garage.
The sun is shining. The sky is clear. You enter the garage and approach your Airwolf.
Thinking about the feeling of flight, you can’t help but smile. You get in, buckle up, and twist the accelerator. Airwolf lifts you off the ground and into the air. You float above the ground, turn the accelerator even more, and shoot up into the sky.
The acceleration pushes you back into your seat, like flooring the gas pedal in your electric car. In just 4 seconds you’re flying at 100 km/h. Today, just like every other day, you hesitate about whether to fly in sports mode and cut corners and enjoy the G-forces, or fly in comfort mode and enjoy the landscape, clouds, and sunny weather. The wind hits you like a wall.
You feel alive, full of energy, and completely free… You head home after a while. How? At full speed, of course. It never gets old. You land, take off your helmet in the garage, plug in Airwolf to charge, and go have a snack with kids. - Isn't that the dream?
9. ANSWER THESE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE - I BELIEVE... I DON'T BELIEVE... I believe we still know very little, and there is still a lot of unknowns, so don’t judge.
I believe people should be kind to each other and stop killing each other.
I don’t believe evil will win.
I believe in freedom of all kinds.
I believe in the soul and mind.
10. WHAT'S ONE DECISION YOU MADE AS A FOUNDER THAT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR JOURNEY? The death of my friend Jaromir Lenc; During a paragliding trip in Bulgaria in 2020, That experience became the ultimate catalyst to finally starting this project.
11. WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS PERSONALLY & AS A FOUNDER? Building my team. Us staying together so long, And not giving up.
12. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY? Giving honest feedback. Because I think telling the honest truth can be hard but it has a potential to truly enhance the person’s life.
13. WHAT'S ONE THING YOU CAN IMPROVE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WHY DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT BY NOW?
Postponing things that I no longer consider to be priority or of added value, but I know I should complete them anyways.
14. WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED OR GIVEN, OR BOTH?
A tough one. Don’t push the stream of the river.
15. ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 - 10 BEING THE BEST. HOW WELL DO YOU THINK YOU AND YOUR TRUTH STORY IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY YOUR COMMUNITY? ( WHY NOT 10? ) 8. I think the hardest point is convincing our community that it is not sci-fi but is really possible and is already here.
16. WHO DO YOU MOST ADMIRE AND WHY? Elon Musk for his endless energy to work.
Also, The one whoever created the rules of our universe and made this game.
17. DESCRIBE YOUR VENTURE - ELEVATOR PITCH STYLE?
For nearly four years, my team and I have been building the ultimate flying bike: Airwolf. This machine offers something that others do not even strive for. Performance hand in hand with beauty. With sleek wings and tilting motors, you can get to zero to one hundred in just four seconds with almost double the maximum speed of other such vehicles and we are targeting to 100 km extended flight range.
So you can fly anywhere you want and however you desire. Today, we aim for recreational motorsports applications. And in the future, Airwolf can help first responders save lives and can change the way we all travel. Having the potential to be cheaper and significantly faster than the cars of today, And It is not a far fetched dream.
We have already made a one-third-scale prototype that has already been recognized by a panel of experts from the European Space Agency Business Incubator and two EIT accelerator programs and others that secured us one hundred and twenty thousand Euros in funding so far.
The most important thing is, our customers just love it. Since recently, we started transforming this R&D project into an investable startup. And only during the last two weeks, we've collected eleven Letters of Intent, including endorsements from the CEO of a tech startup and the CEO of an aviation company with 25 years of experience. We are receiving new LOI almost every day. Each one potentially offering net profit of one hundred and seventy thousand euros. And we haven't paid for any advertisements.
We have also bootstrapped 200k euros. We are used to doing a lot with a little and would like to move to a full scale prototype without compromising on tech and losing endless time reinventing the wheel anymore.
That's why we are now seeking funds of one and a half million euros to build the full scale prototype. This could be done by 2026, enabling us to collect pre-order deposits from our customers which would further fuel the development of the production version, that would be available by 2027, And black numbers are expected to be reached with twenty units sold.
At the moment people are standing in line for it and we have a long waiting list. We just need to build it in bigger scale and better than we have today.
Also, if you are nervous about regulations, consider this. Half of our customers are from the United States where this vehicle can fly even now under experimental aircraft category. And in the Europe? Special certifications for VTOLs are under development right now as well as specifications for vertiports, meant to be in the middle of cities.
18. WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT MISSION STATEMENT OR MESSAGE + MARKET FIT FOR YOUR VENTURE?
Our mission is to revolutionize personal transportation by providing an accessible, exhilarating, and sustainable flying experience. Our target market includes tech enthusiasts, early adopters, and potential applications in emergency response systems.
19. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO TO UNWIND AFTER A LONG WORK DAY?
I like mountain biking and enjoying a chilled beer.
20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU TREATED YOURSELF TO AND WHAT DID YOU CELEBRATE? I celebrated after my last presentation on university grounds where I was able to share our vision.
People liked it alot, and I was proud that the results we achieved were recognized.
