My TRUTH Story:
1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON TO A CROWD OF 10,000+ PEOPLE? Jaime is an entrepreneur from Venezuela. Raised in a family of entrepreneurs, he developed a knack for turning dreams into tangible ventures from a young age. He has a natural ability to inspire those around him, drawing together teams not by design but through the infectious enthusiasm of his ideas. His optimism and positive attitude have been his compass, guiding him through the challenges of leaving Venezuela and supporting his family through their own transitions. His career is a testament to this innate instinct to create and help others do the same. Building companies, whether for himself or for others, has been more than a job; it's been a fulfilment of his natural inclination to foster creation and innovation.
2. WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A TRUTH FOUNDER? A Truth Founder is someone who is on their own journey to find themselves first, And embraces the evolving person they are at each step of the way - with all their flaws and virtues. But most importantly, a Founder that understands others are on a journey as well.
3. WHAT EVENT OR EVENTS HAPPENED TO YOU THAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FOUNDER?
From a young age, entrepreneurship was not just a choice for me, but a calling deeply rooted in my family's legacy. My maternal grandmother, a determined entrepreneur in a challenging Caribbean economy, embodied perseverance, integrity, and an undying optimism that deeply influenced me. She faced obstacles with a smile, teaching me the importance of honesty and discipline. Likewise, my father's venture into entrepreneurship against financial odds mirrored these virtues, showcasing risk tolerance, ethical conduct, and a remarkable knack for negotiation. Their stories aren't just tales of business ventures; they are lessons in courage, ethics, and the power of a positive attitude, all of which have been instrumental in molding me into the entrepreneur I am today.
4. WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE & RITUAL? Every morning, my day begins at the gym around 7 am. I work out while listening to a podcast or audio book (depends on the mood that day could be comedy, news or non-fiction).
Following my workout, I meditate either at the gym or during my commute to work. The ritual concludes with a cup of coffee or green tea, before I dive into the day's tasks. This routine not only energizes my body but also centers my mind.
5. WHAT MANTRA,QUOTE,LINE OR PHRASE DO YOU SAY OFTEN TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF? I'm on my own unique journey, And I trust that whatever happens is the best that could've happened.
6. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR VENTURE? We all buy more things than what we truly need, but the solution is not to end "consumerism". I believe technology can help us make better purchase decisions considering what we already have.
7. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONE TO MAKE YOUR VENTURE A SUCCESS?
I believe that to change the world we should not strive for drastic "quick fixes" but focus on small ("lean") changes. I believe this mindset is important if we want to change how people buy today.
8. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR VENTURE? ( START WTIH: IMAGINE A WORLD... WHAT IF...WE WILL BE... )
Imagine a world where we (by our own choice) buy clothes that we don't return and that we love so much that we use until the fabric tears apart.
9. ANSWER THESE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE - I BELIEVE... I DON'T BELIEVE... I believe people are good by nature.
I believe in people's freedom to choose what makes them happy.
10. WHAT'S ONE DECISION YOU MADE AS A FOUNDER THAT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR JOURNEY? Stopping one of our fundraises mid-way to reassess the standing of our product and company.
11. WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS PERSONALLY & AS A FOUNDER? Personally, having supported my family as we emigrated from Venezuela.
As a Founder, raising a substantial pre-seed round from great investors round with a very bold vision and idea.
12. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY? Right now I love the fact that I'm open to continue to discover myself and who I am and understanding where is all that coming from. That's exciting.
13. WHAT'S ONE THING YOU CAN IMPROVE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WHY DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT BY NOW?
I get lost in my thoughts too much, specially at night. I'm working on it, I just think it takes time.
14. WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED OR GIVEN, OR BOTH?
Whatever you do, do it the best you can.
15. ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 - 10 BEING THE BEST. HOW WELL DO YOU THINK YOU AND YOUR TRUTH STORY IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY YOUR COMMUNITY? ( WHY NOT 10? ) 6. Because I think I have not shared it enough.
16. WHO DO YOU MOST ADMIRE AND WHY? My grandmother. She didn't finish high school, but she had this innate business intelligence that many MBAs would only dream of. But it was her attitude towards life, her charisma and her overall optimism that set her apart from the classic "successful" entrepreneur profiles. I hope I carry a bit of her spirit within me.
17. DESCRIBE YOUR VENTURE - ELEVATOR PITCH STYLE?
We build Artificial Intelligence applications for the cosmetics and fashion industry to help their customers make better purchase decisions by seeing products on themselves (Augmented Reality and Generative AI) or next to what they already own.
18. WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT MISSION STATEMENT OR MESSAGE + MARKET FIT FOR YOUR VENTURE?
To help consumers make better purchase decisions and reduce the number of returns and waste in the eCommerce industry.
19. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO TO UNWIND AFTER A LONG WORK DAY?
Watch a good movie or meet up with friends.
20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU TREATED YOURSELF TO AND WHAT DID YOU CELEBRATE? I spent a week with my parents after a very challenging period of negotiations.
