Dr. Alexis is the Founder of Coffeeco - Turning Spent Coffee Grounds - An Abundant Waste - Into Powerful Natural Ingredients For Skincare And Sustainable Bioplastics, Creating Value From Waste And Fighting Pollution. My TRUTH Story:
1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON TO A CROWD OF 10,000+ PEOPLE?
Alexis Pantziaros is a chemical engineer from Cyprus. He founded Coffeeco Upcycle wih his Co-Founder Marios.
With a PhD in chemical engineering and a deep passion for sustainability, Alexis transforms coffee waste into valuable resources, leading innovation in circular economy.
2. WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A TRUTH FOUNDER?
A Truth Founder is someone deeply committed to solving real problems with honesty and resilience, staying true to their mission even when challenges arise.
3. WHAT EVENT OR EVENTS HAPPENED TO YOU THAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FOUNDER?
Meeting my co-founder Marios at an innovation competition in 2016 opened my eyes to the huge coffee waste problem, and the opportunity to create something impactful and sustainable.
4. WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE & RITUAL? I start every day with a strong espresso, take a moment to reflect on our mission, followed by reviewing key priorities to focus on executing high-impact tasks first.
5. WHAT MANTRA,QUOTE,LINE OR PHRASE DO YOU SAY OFTEN TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF? “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” It reminds me progress is made by action, not perfection.
6. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR VENTURE? Because Coffeeco turns what was once waste into products that reduces environmental impacts, provides sustainable innovation, and is possible and profitable.
7. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONE TO MAKE YOUR VENTURE A SUCCESS?
My technical background combined with my relentless drive for sustainability and teamwork gives me the ability to lead Coffeeco from idea to an impactful reality.
8. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR VENTURE? ( START WITH: IMAGINE A WORLD... WHAT IF... WE WILL BE... )
IMAGINE A WORLD where coffee waste no longer pollutes but powers new industries.
WHAT IF every espresso cup you drink contributed to skincare or eco-friendly plastics?
WE WILL BE pioneers of a circular coffee economy changing how we think about waste.
9. ANSWER THESE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE - I BELIEVE... I DON'T BELIEVE... I believe innovation can solve environmental crises.
I don’t believe sustainability is a trend - it's our future.
I believe collaboration is key.
I don’t believe in quick fixes without lasting impact.
10. WHAT'S ONE DECISION YOU MADE AS A FOUNDER THAT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR JOURNEY? Deciding to partner with Coffee Island to build Southern Europe’s first industrial espresso waste upcycling facility was a game-changer for scale and credibility.
11. WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS PERSONALLY & AS A FOUNDER? Personally, completing my PhD while co-founding a company.
As a Founder, launching Auraskin and joining the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator.
12. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY? My perseverance - Because turning coffee waste into valuable products required years of research, dedication, and overcoming my skepticism.
13. WHAT'S ONE THING YOU CAN IMPROVE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WHY DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT BY NOW?
Delegation. As a Founder, I tend to take on too much myself, but I’m learning that trusting my team is essential for growth.
14. WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED OR GIVEN, OR BOTH?
“Fail fast, but learn faster.” It taught me to embrace mistakes as steps toward innovation.
15. ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 - 10 BEING THE BEST. HOW WELL DO YOU THINK YOU AND YOUR TRUTH STORY IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY YOUR COMMUNITY? ( WHY NOT 10? )
I’d say 8. We’re growing fast, but there’s still work to do in communicating the full impact and potential of our circular economy mission.
16. WHO DO YOU MOST ADMIRE AND WHY?
Henry Ford, because he was a man who truly changed the system.
He introduced an idea that disrupted the status quo and transformed the way industries operate, setting new standards and making things better at scale.

Our mission is to revolutionize coffee waste into sustainable, innovative products that benefit people and the planet, And meeting growing market demand for eco-conscious solutions.
19. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO TO UNWIND AFTER A LONG WORK DAY?
I enjoy going for a drive, putting on some music, and just heading out without a specific destination. It helps me clear my mind and recharge.
20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU TREATED YOURSELF TO AND WHAT DID YOU CELEBRATE? I treated myself to a weekend getaway after being selected for the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator, celebrating recognition of our hard work.
